Frankfurt

Exhausted from the day charging about to complete errands in Singapore, I pretty much slept through my flight on lufthansa.

I managed though, to hack for half-an-hour on my mac. I finished parsing the shp file for un-redd project. It containing 16,459 geographical features in the layer object, identified the fids and geom.geos objects.

Will clean up my import script and explain how to use GDAL/django gis utilities in a technical blog post on odeon when I wait around in Frankfurt for my connecting flight to Malpensa.

Ah, yeah… before I forget, I still haven’t figures out how to get from Milan Malpensa to Milan Belgamo airport. That’s the next leg of my journey to beautiful Brasov (in Romania). Better scrape out some time to find out about this ASAP!

Life as a Digital Nomad

Path of the traveller

So it begins. Another Odeon coding camp/working trip in Europe, to visit ETH Zurich to work with a favorite client of ours, to attend my colleague, Liviu‘s wedding party in the beautiful town of Brasov, Romania; and to present a couple of Python talks at EuroPython 2011 in Florence, Italy with my Odeon partner Stefan.

I will be sharing some of the work our team did on a really cool Species Extinction GIS/GeoDjango project with ETH Zurich, Dr Koh.  Stefan will be digging deep into the world of neuroscience, Python and RDF/SparQL – a really awesome project with Dr Mihai of University of Southern California.
